I can't understand why the VDA can't be \u201epushed\u201c via the DDC's on demand. In the meantime we have to fight Citrix and Microsoft issues to upgrade the VDA. Here are some points to make the upgrade work:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Citrix uses a \u201e<strong>NT Service<\/strong>\u201c account for the telemetry service and requires rights to log on as a service. This can be done via the group policies, where \u201e<strong>NT Service\\All Service<\/strong>\u201c is authorized to register as a service.<br \/>XenDesktop 7.8 Install Error - Installation of MSI File \u201eTelemetryServiceInstaller_x64.msi\u201c\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/support.citrix.com\/article\/CTX207907Unable\">http:\/\/support.citrix.com\/article\/CTX207907<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Unable to log on as NT SERVICE<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/2832204\">https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/2832204<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The upgrade may fail with the following messages<strong> error 1603 or 1911<\/strong> for <strong>TelemetryServiceInstaller_x64.msi<\/strong> or <strong>IcaTS_x64.msi<\/strong> and caused by a Microsoft security update that comes with the Windows update. Only uninstalling the hotfix KB3072630 fixes the problem.\u00a0\n<ul>\n<li>Error 1911 Could not register type library for file<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/support.citrix.com\/article\/CTX201748\">http:\/\/support.citrix.com\/article\/CTX201748<\/a><\/li>\n<li>MS15-074: Vulnerability in Windows Installer service could allow elevation of privilege<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/3072630\">https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/3072630<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If the upgrade still does not work, then it is due to another Microsoft hotfix KB3139923 and must also be uninstalled first.\n<ul>\n<li>MSI repair doesn't work when MSI source is installed on an HTTP share in Windows<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/3139923\">https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/3139923<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Rarely, however, the installation could fail if there are entries in the user's registry<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>There should be no Citrix components in the following keys:<br \/><code>HKCU\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Installer\\Products<\/code><br \/><code>HKCU\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Installer\\UpgradeCodes<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I had listed ALL the problems before but after that the VDA could be installed without errors.\u00a0<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Upgrade des\u00a0Citrix Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) scheint mehr und mehr ein Problem zu sein als eine einfache Sache.
