L<\/span>Last week, I launched a poll on Twitter asking, \u201eWould you pay for Citrix NetScaler HDX Proxy\u201c even though Citrix had announced it would be free at their own Synergy event? I\u2019m sure there was a lot of applause when the announcement was made.<\/p>\n

Let's take a look at the result and what it tells us.<\/p>\n

Here are the results of the Twitter poll <\/span><\/h3>\n

  1. Most people don't want to pay<\/strong> for the HDX Proxy, and the reason is surely that Secure Gateway is free\u2014and isn't that the whole point of the HDX Proxy? I agree with this group!<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. As the next group up to $800, Netscaler users generally find the process too cumbersome and would like to see it simplified. Here, too, I agree that the wizards and workflow need to be simple, but That is why we need a new product<\/strong>?<\/li>\n
  3. The $1,000 group should simply purchase a NetScaler Gateway and get help implementing it in their own environment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I\u2019d like to consider another option to replace Secure Gateway, and that is the\u00a0Free Netscaler VPX Express<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

    • Citrix Windows Secure Gateway<\/span><\/li>\n
    • StrorFront + Netscaler Simplification (Citrix needs to improve this!)<\/li>\n
    • An IP address for management and remote access<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Single-use appliance (VPX)<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Limited to 500 concurrent HDX sessions<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Free to use and no active Advantage subscription required<\/li>\n
    • Limited to approximately 100 simultaneous<\/strong> HDX sessions (I need to check that again!)<\/li>\n
    • Annual\u00a0free license<\/strong> Renewal<\/li>\n
    • HDX ONLY (no SmartAccess features)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
