CCitrix Cloud ADM Service: What is it, and does my company need it? Citrix Application Delivery Management (ADM) is a management platform for Netscaler, whether it’s a gateway or an Application Delivery Controller (ADC). However, the ADM service can do much more than just manage Netscaler, and I’ll try to explain that in more detail in three parts. In the first part The purpose is to explain everything that can be done with the ADM service. The Part Two discusses the various configurations of the ADM agent and what to look out for. Finally, in the third part, this section provides examples of how the data collected by the ADM service can be used. The Cloud ADM service offers significant added value, particularly for Netscaler Gateway customers, especially starting with Netscaler version 13.x
When it comes to Citrix NetScaler, security is a top priority for my company, especially when NetScaler provides services externally. Many Citrix customers use NetScaler ADC or, more specifically, NetScaler Gateway for secure HDX connections to the corporate network. However, there are many other options, such as VPNs, reverse proxy connections for email, SharePoint, etc. Therefore, the safety consideration The Netscaler is extremely important and should be monitored constantly. That is exactly why I recommend the free Citrix Cloud ADM to all my clients. Once set up, the ADM service monitors the Netscalers, whether there is one or more Netscaler instances and regardless of the edition.
The built-in notification system then proactively sends emails, for example, when a Newly Available Firmware Security Issues resolves issues or alerts you when SSL certificates are about to expire, as well as other customizable notifications on various topics. The „Security Advisory“ displays security issues and their severity levels, such as Low, High, etc.

An ADM Agent Appliance can also be used to manage Netscalers, for example by creating backups, performing remote firmware upgrades, or configuring devices via „Stylebook.“ In addition, Citrix Cloud ADM includes two free licenses for advanced analysis. When configured correctly, this provides a wealth of additional information, especially for HDX connections via the HDX Insight, including metrics for each user connecting to the gateway. This data includes, among other things, geolocation, latency, and bandwidth for individual virtual channels of the HDX data stream.

Even without a licensed application firewall, the Syslog integration can be used to filter out certain items, such as failed logins or Failed attacks! The boss will quickly take notice when it is pointed out that, how often attacks actually occur. For the customer shown in the image below, within just one week 556 hacker attacks registered.

Summary
The Citrix Cloud ADM service is a Must-have For anyone using Netscaler ADC or Netscaler Gateway! Citrix makes it easy for businesses and offers this service completely free of charge, so don't hesitate—start using Citrix Cloud ADM today!
In the second part I will discuss the two different configurations of the ADM agent and explain their respective advantages and disadvantages. Unfortunately, Citrix does not clearly highlight the differences between the ADM agents, nor are they clearly explained during the deployment of the ADM agent.
